Joe Biden may appeal to the citizens that he is pro-labor, but the American workers and leaders couldn’t be fooled.
Joe Biden has broken his promises and abandoned American workers.https://t.co/kBPLaBOgBb— Ronna McDaniel (@GOPChairwoman) February 8, 2021
During a February 7 interview, one of the country’s top union leaders expressed his displeasure with Biden’s decision to cancel the Keystone XL project.
Axios reporter Jonathan Swan asked AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka to explain why Biden is right in cancelling the pipeline project.
This was a very big mistake. We need the ability to produce and transport our own energy. I’m for environmental responsibility but not at the expense of making energy expensive and effect average Americans who are having great trouble making ends meet for their families.— Daniel Hamm (@DanielH24688823) February 7, 2021
Instead of saying that Biden was right, Trumka voiced out his disagreement. “I wish he hadn’t done that on the first day because the Laborers’ International was right.”
The pipeline project is set to open 10,000 construction job opportunities for many American laborers. However, Biden’s decision took away jobs from these workers.
Trumka was careful with his words, trying to avoid openly criticizing a Democrat president. However, he could no longer hold back as the truth spilled out from his mouth.
Trumka mentioned that Biden’s decision will cost jobs. It just shows how reckless the current president is, compromising not only the jobs but also the lives of the workers’ families who will suffer.
If Biden desires to unite the country, he needs to put American workers and their families first, not radical liberal policies.— Heritage Action (@Heritage_Action) February 9, 2021
The unions are openly supportive of Democrats, but the leader of a union with 12.5 million members could no longer hide his displeasure with Biden’s rash decision.
Are liberal policies more important than the lives of American laborers?
